Rescue Organizations
All proceeds from the Bewildered by Loss Program go to organizations directly responsible for animal rescue and care. Organizations range from sanctuaries for factory-farmed animals, animals abused for our entertainment and sport, animals raised for furs, or for laboratory research. Humane societies care for stray, neglected, abandoned or puppy mill bred domestic animals. Rescue groups intervene to save animals trapped by natural disasters. There is increasing awareness about the fishing industry where attempts are being made to change practices and laws.
Rescue Organizations are themselves “not-for-profit” and are dependent on volunteers. Suggested Rescue Organizations which are registered in Canada are the following:
